Pilates Fit Instructors are experienced, trained and certified in the STOTTPILATES® method. We have extensive knowledge of anatomy, muscle function, biomechanics, injury rehabilitation and fitness programming.

Sharmila Kulkarni, Physiotherapist, Certified STOTTPILATES® Instructor, Director Pilates Fit Studio

Sharmila has been both a student of Pilates and a Certified Instructor for more than 8 years. As a Registered Physiotherapist, she has had the opportunity to teach all levels of Pilates to clients across the spectrum from kids to athletes to seniors. As the Director of our Pilates Rehab program, she is specially trained to provide instruction and modifications to clients with injuries. She has a particular interest in Pre Natal Pilates and Pilates for kids.

As a health care professional committed to fitness and wellness, Sharmila has completed continuing education courses Pre-natal Pilates, Acupuncture, Manual Therapy and Senior's health. She combines her roles as Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor to design programs that help clients restore, maintain and enhance their lifestyle.

Sharmila's latest initiative is FRESH fitness, a non-competitive global fitness program for kids ages 5-16. Her goal is to encourage active living in people of all ages and abilities.

Wendy Hillier, B.A., Registered Massage Therapist

Wendy attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario graduating in 2000 with her degree in Honours Kinesiology and Physical Education.

Her interest in the science of the human body and holistic health led Wendy to pursue a career in the fields of Pilates and Massage Therapy. She attended Elmcrest College in Toronto where she graduated from the Massage Therapy program with Honours. She then went on to complete her STOTT pilates Instructor training in the fall 2007.

Wendy believes that both Pilates and Massage Therapy are an essential part of a person’s overall health and wellness plan to help relieve stress/tension, to improve fitness and to rehabilitate injuries

Wendy’s hobbies include reading and traveling.

Maura Bommer, Certified Pilates Instructor

Maura attended Cabrillo College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Alternative Energy Technologies. She began her career in fitness in 1995 becoming an aerobics instructor in Colorado. After moving with her husband to Ontario, she became certified in group fitness, personal training and indoor cycling and, in 1999, she became certified to teach Pilates.

Since 2006, Maura has focused her work in post rehabilitation, working with various local health care professionals such as Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Osteopaths, and local GPs. She has been successfully helping clients with acute injuries as well clients with chronic symptoms, ranging from rotator cuff tears, knee replacements and disc injuries, to diabetes, bursitis, and fibromyalgia.

Maura has extensive post-certification training in Therapeutic Pilates, Post Rehab Work for Personal Trainers, Injury Assessment, Integrative Manual Therapy Protocols and Soft Tissue Release Technique.

She has remained committed to preserving the environment using her original education in alternative energy to improve her new home, which she shares with her husband on the Niagara escarpment, and to tend to her extensive organic garden. She also enjoys on and off road cycling, Latin music and dance and attending various workshops in and around the peninsula.

Kathy Callaghan, Certified Pilates Instructor

After spending many years raising her family Kathy returned to her love of fitness and swimming. The rigorous training of swimming and other fitness pursuits lead Kathy to follow her natural sense of precision to discover the satisfaction of strength building through Pilates. Shortly after she started practicing Pilates in 2000 she began her teacher training programs receiving certifications from Stott Pilates in Mat and Reformer, Body Harmonics Mat and extensive training on the Cadillac, Chair and Barrel from Stott Pilates.

Kathy is a warm and inspiring instructor with a positive and motivating style of teaching. Her mission is to help her clients attain their personal goals of health, fitness and well being partially through the Stott Pilates style of training. Kathy creates a fun, safe and exciting experience incorporating a natural flow and variety to her Pilates instruction. She hopes you will join her to explore all aspects of Pilates.

Kiri-Lyn Muir, STOTTPILATES® Certified Instructor

Kiri-Lyn is a Stott Certified Pilates instructor with six years of experience teaching in places ranging from gyms, Pilates studios, dance studios, skating arenas and rehab centers. She combines her background in dance as well as training in mat work, and on the reformer, cadillac, chair, barrel and a range of fitness 'props' to build dynamic workouts for those who train with her.

Kiri-Lyn enjoys the challenge of working with clients whose sole goal it is to 'get fit', as well as with clients who come to Pilates with a wide range of physical ailments. In her work as a Pilates instructor she has seen Pilates assist many individuals to become pain free.
