We are very pleased to announce the grand opening of our kid's fitness program. As a facility that is committed to health promotion and disease prevention, we have spent the last year researching and developing a supervised fitness program for children ages 5-16. Through our research, we became aware of the following health facts:
- Hamilton has the highest rate of childhood obesity in Canada
- Obesity and super-obesity are up 36% and 98%, respectively, in the past 20 years
- The average child gets less than 15 minutes of vigorous activity a day
- Poor diet and physical inactivity can lead to children developing adult diseases
- 90% percent of parents think their children are fit, when only one out of three is
FRESH Fitness 4 Kids is a program designed to promote wellness, health and active living in kids ages 5-16. It is a non-competitive, fun- focused program that introduces components of sport, strengthening, endurance, flexibility and nutrition. This specialized program was developed specifically for health care professionals by a team that included STOTT Pilates founder Moira Stott-Merrithew, Certified Instructor Trainers and Rehabilitation professionals. You can start the process with Spinal, Pelvic & Scapular Stabilization:
Matwork & Reformer - RMR1

This course introduces you to the biomechanical principles of STOTT PILATES and their application to modified Matwork, light equipment and Reformer exercises. Emphasis is on lumbo-pelvic and shoulder girdle stabilization and the role they play in rehabilitation and injury prevention. Participants also learn the following: review of STOTT PILATES basic principles; identifying proper execution and movement patterns; effective verbal cueing and imagery; clinical problem solving using the STOTT PILATES method. A focus on spinal, pelvic and scapular conditions. Over 90 exercises plus multiple modifications.
Applications are accepted from the following licensed or certified professionals only:
- Physical Therapists/Physiotherapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Chiropractors
- Osteopaths
- Medical or Sports Medicine Doctors
- Or Professional with a minimum of 2 years of full time study from a certifying/licensing/degree granting institution in anatomy, physiology, injury prevention, exercise prescription with clinical experience, and has been granted to right to assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe for the rehabilitation and/or prevention of injuries.

and Outreach Classes. You pick the date, outline
your needs and we’ll design a session that is fun, challenging
and just right for you!
This 40-hour course (8 days) will cover the Essential and Intermediate
Mat repertoire. You will also learn modifications for various body
types and the use of flex-bands and fitness circles to further challenge
your clients.
This 50 hour (10 day) course will cover both the Essential and
Intermediate Reformer repertoire. You will learn how to combine
Matwork and Reformer-based workouts for increased variety and intensity.
Upon completion of this course you are able to further motivate
group classes and customize personal sessions for a range of clients.
